As part of its Plug-in Collective initiative, which presents a free plug-in or download to Focusrite users each month, the brand and Applied Accoustics Systems offer Session Bundle for free until December 8. More information & downloadĪAS Session Bundle goes free for Focusrite usersįocusrite users are aplenty in the production scene, for the British manufacturer’s reasonably-priced gear tends to be a popular choice. MSpectralPan is available for Windows and Mac computers in 32 & 64-bit VST, AU, and AAX formats. We guess that’s why Melda implemented automatic gain compensation and a safety limiter – speakers could easily be blown without these in place! In addition to frequency panning, it also does modulation via LFO, step sequencing, and envelope followers, so you can get pretty nuts with it. According to Melda Production, the plug-in is great for cleaning up mixes, creating depth, fixing frequency clashes, and coming up with creative effects. It does it with an innovative user interface that lets you ‘draw’ in where you want to pan stuff. In short, MSpectralPan lets you position individual frequencies across the frequency spectrum.

Also, I always EQ my FX returns which shapes the effected signal as well.Melda Production offers an interesting tool – the MSpectralPan free spectral panner plug-in. I'm panning my stereo return a litttle bit off from 100-100 to give that stereo reverb a different placement in the stereo field.

Also, there needs to be a predelay which could have different style like an Echoboy function that would be a nice feature for future plugins. I hope the bigger version of the Plate plugin has multiple plates or reverbs within the plugin. The most creative aspect of the plugin is the decay time which changes the reverb time from half a second to infinite which you can automate. It has a build in mix control and a low cut up to 1 khz. The mod switch has some subtle chorus effect on the reverb tail which is nice.

The Soundtoys Little Plate has a great quality of blending in with the source and sounds great.

The Abbey Road is more of a metallic sound but has different versions of plates in their plug from all tube based to solid state, The Soundtoys Little Plate has a great depth to it, a smooth tone and a wider stereo image than the Abbey Road's Plate. Just a few in there to audition which one is best for the track or song. I have a few plates reverbs on bypass in my mixing template.
